The International Association of Universities (IAU) welcomed Cihan University-Erbil as a member

The International Association of Universities (IAU) has approved Cihan University Erbil as one of its members. Cihan University -Erbil is a leading university in its ongoing scientific efforts to join international institutions and win the trust of organizations, unions, and associations specializing in higher literacy at different levels of international, regional, and local levels.

On July 17, 2023, the International Association of Universities was signed by  (Hilligje van’t Land), secretary general of the International Association of Universities. The membership certificate was submitted to Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Dalo, president of Cihan University- Erbil, as stated in the certificate (Since 2023, Cihan-Erbil University, Iraq has been a full and active member of the International University Association).

Founded in 1950 as a UNESCO agency group, the International Association of Universities of Nasro (IAU) was given a special advisory position by the United Nations Economic and Social Council( ECOSOC). The IAU is a world-leading association of universities, institutions, and higher education organizations around the world, currently with about 600 members from more than 130 countries.

The IAU hosts an annual worldwide conference to exchange ideas on topics of higher education, where members of the association can make use of a variety of services and participate actively. Membership in the Cihan-Erbil University (IAU) will be a new entry point to working with members of the association and taking an active part in the community’s election of the president and board of directors, in addition to giving full opportunities to benefit from members’ experience in various fields to develop and improve the quality of education at the university and various scientific institutions.
