The Department of Radiological Imaging Technologies at Cihan University–Erbil, in collaboration with Erbil International Hospital and the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM), organized an intensive professional workshop on Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Safety. The workshop was held on Friday, 9 January 2026, at Erbil International Hospital.
The event was attended by fourth-stage students, the Head of the Department, and members of the academic faculty. The program featured specialized scientific sessions delivered by experienced professionals in the field, notably Mr. Nafith Abdul-Karimi, Specialist Trainer, and Mr. Omar Adil Mohammed Ali, Head of the Department of Radiological Imaging Technologies.
The sessions focused on the critical importance of MRI safety, emphasizing its role as a fundamental and essential competency for professionals working in medical imaging. Topics addressed included international MRI safety standards, risk management, and best practices to ensure patient and staff safety in clinical environments.
During the workshop, Mr. Nafith Abdul-Karimi highlighted the significance of the initiative, stating:

Participating students expressed strong appreciation for the workshop, noting that it provided valuable practical insights into MRI safety protocols.
