The department of Banking and Financial Sciences in cooperation with the Department of Public
Administration organized a workshop entitled ‘The effect of Monetary and Financial Policy on
Goods and Service Production in Iraq and Kurdistan Region on 14-15-1/2020 in Cihan
Academy.
The workshop was presented by professor Dr. Mowaffak, lecturer Dr.Mujeeb, Dr, Sameer
Salahuddin Hamdi and Dr.Talal Subhi Mousa and it was attended by teaching staff members
and students who showed interest in the topic and took part in the discussion.
The workshop lasted for two days with the purpose of defining the political and monetary
policy and its effect on local production in Iraq. It also analyzed the relationship between
monetary policy and sustainable economic growth in Iraq. In addition to the analysis of the
impact of monetary policy on credit policy of the banking system.
As regards the financial policy, the workshop presented a future study concerning the general
financial situations in Kurdistan’s independent state. It also analyzed the impact of financial and
administrative corruption in Iraq and its impact on national production.
