On 11, 12 April, 2021, the department of Physiotherapy, Cihan University-Erbil organized a scientific symposium entitled “Workplace Syndromes” in cooperation with the Department of Physiotherapy at Polytechnic University – Erbil, and the Aylan Center for Physiotherapy.
Professor Dr. Amjad Saber Al-Delawi, President of Cihan University-Erbil, a representative of the President of Polytechnic University-Erbil, and a number of officials of the Aylan Center for Physiotherapy participated in this two-day symposium. A number of teachers and students of Cihan University-Erbil also attended the symposium.
At the beginning of the symposium which was held in the conference hall of Cihan University-Erbil, Prof. Dr. Amjad delivered the opening speech and welcomed the participants. He indicated the paramount importance of health care at workplace and mentioned that we should devout special attention to this subject as it is, to a large extent, neglected. He hoped that this symposium may provide principle and practical recommendation related to the topic. At the end he thanked all who organized the symposium and announced that Cihan University-Erbil welcomes any cooperation to provide help with organizing such symposiums and conferences.
In another part of the event, the representative of Polytechnic University-Erbil and the representative of the Aylan Center for Physiotherapy presented their speeches respectively.
Assistant Professor Muhammad Ashraf Shuker presented a seminar entitled ‘Causes and Symptoms of Workplace Syndromes’, in which he thoroughly talked about the effective mechanisms of improving health at the workplace.
Dr. Mahdi Khaled Qader, head of the Physiotherapy Department at the College of Health Technology, Polytechnic University-Erbil, gave a seminar on prevention and treatment methods.
On the second day of the symposium, Dr. Zeina Nabil Ahmed gave her seminar on ‘First Aid at the Workplace’ and addressed the processes that must be taken in a comprehensive and practical manner.
At the end of the symposium, some physiotherapist from the Aylan Center presented a set of instructions to the attendees practically, in which it emphasized how to perform a number of exercises and how to deal with tasks while performing work.
