The importance of translation in the Kurdish media and the problems of technology and translation from the Kurdish language to the English language and vice versa from the English language to the Kurdish language. Department of Media and Department of Translation in the Faculty of Arts and Arts – Cihan University – Erbil had a workshop at Tuesday and Wednesday, 19 -20/12/2017 at 11:30 pm at the Cihan Academy Hall. The workshop opened with a speech by the president of cihan university assistant professor Dr. Fuad Mawlood Shareef, followed by the speech of the Head of theMedia Department, Dr. Mohamd Khader Mawlood,and the speech of the Head of Translation Department, Dr. Saman Abdul Qader Dazayi. The workshop started on the first day with the participation of Mr,Sirvan Aminzadah, Mr. Faraydoon Rasouli from the department of translation, and Dr. Sadiq Hama Ghareeb from the department of Media. On Wednesday 20/12/2017, the workshop started with the participation of Dr. Mohammed Khader Mawlood, A.L. Abeer Mahmoud and A.L.Omar Hassan Fahmi from the Media Department. University professors , lecturers and students from both media and translation departments attended the workshop in an academic atmosphere discussed over topics of the workshop, as well as the formation of groups of teachers and students of both departments to make some practical applications about the mechanism and how to translate Some media texts from Kurdish to English and vice versa. At the workshop sessions on the second day, participants reached a set of recommendations and academic proposals, below recommendations and proposals:
1- Emphasize the need for the translator to understand the importance and seriousness of his work in translation, where he has a great responsibility in the accuracy of the translation and its credibility.
2- There should be an awareness of the translator in his work writing media text whether it (news, report, article …) This is through the provision of courses or lessons in writing media texts for the translator, because the work of the translator requires rewriting the text in a way that requires touching His art and media must be translated not blind.
3- To set of ethics and principles that must be complied with by the translator in the performance of his work, which comes in the forefront of the principles of honesty, accuracy and objectivity in translation, and mastering the language from which the translation from or to it.
