On 24 th October 2022 Department of Nutrition and Dietetic in collaboration with Ashti Health
Organization celebrated World Cancer Day by conducting a workshop entitled “Breast Cancer”. In this
workshop that held in VIP hall, Cihan University-Erbil, the Cihan University-Erbil together with Ashti
Health Organization, invited Dr. Narmeen Taha, general and breast surgeon for presenting a workshop.
The outline of her workshop included training and enlightening the audience about the prevalence,
types, symptoms, severity of breast cancer, and some simple practical methods for self-breast cancer
diagnosis. She also educated the audience regarding the eating problems during and after breast cancer
surgery and gave the practical solutions for their eating problems. At the end of the event, the audience
raised their questions regarding the breast cancer treatment, and she clarified their questions. It was a
highly educative, informative and beneficial workshop for audience.
