Erbil, November 19, 2024 — In celebration of World Quality Day, Cihan University–Erbil organized a major conference on Sunday, November 17, 2024, in cooperation with the International Federation of Businessmen and Businesswomen. The conference, entitled “Quality and Innovation: The Key to Development and Excellence,” brought together experts, academics, and stakeholders from various sectors to highlight the importance of implementing quality standards as a cornerstone for sustainable development. Opening remarks were delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Abdulsattar Kareem Saeed, Vice President for Administrative and Student Affairs, who emphasized the university’s commitment to fostering a culture of quality among students and ensuring excellence in its educational services. Speeches by key figures, including representatives from the Ministry of Planning, the Iraqi National Center, and the Kurdistan Artificial Intelligence Center, addressed the challenges of promoting quality standards, sustainability, and the role of technology in improving service delivery.
The conference featured two interactive sessions, including a focused discussion on “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Quality Management,” moderated by Dr. Hussam Al-Shaikha. Experts from Cihan University–Erbil and government institutions shared insights on using AI to enhance operational efficiency, develop services, and increase competitiveness in various sectors. Participants actively engaged in discussions, emphasizing the need for collaboration between universities, government bodies, and the private sector to promote a culture of quality. At the conclusion of the event, Assistant Lecturer Azwar Mahdi Qasim Agha stressed the importance of applying quality standards across all sectors, continuous human resource training, and leveraging technological advancements, particularly AI, to elevate service quality and institutional performance.
