Cihan University–Erbil Organizes a Specialized Workshop on Notebook LM and Its Importance for Researchers

Erbil, November 19–20, 2025 — The Department of Informatics and Software Engineering at Cihan University–Erbil organized a specialized scientific workshop entitled “Introduction to Notebook LM and Its Importance in Supporting Researchers and Academics” on Wednesday and Thursday (19–20 November 2025) in the VIP Hall.

The workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor Ghassan A. QasMarrogy from the Department of Informatics and Software Engineering, with the participation of a number of faculty members and researchers from various academic departments.

During the workshop, Assistant Professor Ghassan provided a comprehensive overview of Notebook LM, describing it as one of Google’s advanced artificial intelligence tools designed to enhance research productivity and accelerate information analysis. He demonstrated the system’s key capabilities, including summarizing academic sources, extracting core concepts, analyzing scientific texts, and generating preliminary research drafts with high accuracy and efficiency.

The workshop also emphasized the increasing role of intelligent technologies in academic environments, highlighting how Notebook LM can support researchers by reducing the time required to review scientific literature, improving analytical efficiency, and assisting faculty members in the preparation of lectures, academic content, and research projects.

The event concluded with an interactive discussion session, during which participants raised questions regarding the practical applications of Notebook LM across different academic disciplines. Attendees expressed their appreciation for the workshop, noting its importance in keeping pace with recent developments in artificial intelligence and digital learning technologies.
