Cihan University–Erbil, through the Department of Informatics and Law, organized a scientific seminar titled “The Approach of the Court of Cassation in the Kurdistan Region Regarding Third-Party Objections Filed by a Creditor in Spousal Alimony Cases” on 3 December 2025. The seminar was presented by Assistant Lecturer Hisham Hashim Mikaeel and aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).
The seminar examined the legal framework governing third-party objections, focusing on cases where creditors challenge judicial rulings issued against their debtors in spousal alimony lawsuits. It also analyzed recent judicial trends of the Kurdistan Region Court of Cassation, highlighting the balance between protecting family rights to alimony and safeguarding creditors’ financial interests
