The Department of Informatics and Software Engineering at Cihan University – Erbil organized a specialized scientific workshop titled “Introduction to Notebook LM and Its Importance in Supporting Researchers and Academics” on Wednesday and Thursday (19–20/11/2025) in the VIP Hall. The workshop was presented by Assistant professor Ghassan A. QasMarrogy from the same department, with the participation of several faculty members and researchers from various departments.
During the workshop, Assistant professor Ghassan provided an in-depth explanation of Notebook LM, highlighting it as one of Google’s modern artificial intelligence tools designed to enhance research productivity and accelerate information analysis. He also demonstrated how the system can be used to summarize sources, extract key ideas, analyze scientific texts, and generate initial research drafts with high accuracy and efficiency.
The workshop further highlighted the growing role of intelligent tools in academic environments, illustrating how Notebook LM can help increase researchers’ efficiency, reduce the time spent reviewing scientific literature, and support faculty members in preparing lectures and research projects.
The event concluded with an interactive discussion session, during which participants asked questions about the practical applications of the technology across different academic fields. Attendees praised the importance of such workshops in keeping pace with the latest advancements in artificial intelligence and digital learning technologies.
