SUMMARY:Seminar Presentation (DARE) 3/4/2022
DESCRIPTION:Title \nGreen Concrete \nAbstract \nConcrete which is made from concrete wastes that are eco-friendly are called as “Green concrete”. Green Concrete is a term given to a concrete that has extra steps taken in the mix design and placement to insure a sustainable structure and a long life cycle with a low maintenance surface. e.g. Energy saving\, CO2 emissions\, wastewater. Today the word green is not just limited to colour\, it represents the environment\, which is surrounding us. “Green concrete” is a revolutionary topic in the history of concrete industry. This was first invented in Denmark in the year 1998 by Dr.WG. Concrete wastes like slag\, power plant wastes\, recycled concrete\, mining and quarrying wastes\, waste glass\, incinerator residue\, red mud\, burnt clay\, sawdust\, combustor ash and foundry sand. The goal of the Centre for Green Concrete is to reduce the environmental impact of concrete. \nDate: 4/3/2022 \nPlace: Building No.9 -Hall 9106

DESCRIPTION:Title \nMobile Application Based-Therapy for Adolescents with Depression \nAbstract \nThis study aims at discovering the preferred mobile application that requires mobile application based-therapy for adolescents with depression. Medications and therapies are frequent treatments provided and prescribed by doctors to treat depression patients. However\, communication between doctors and patients is not in-depth and limited that is only held in a therapy setting. This study applied Delphi Method and find out that the application of Whatsapp is chosen and categorized as the main based–therapy for adolescents with depression.. The findings of this study would be functional for psychiatry doctors particularly in using Whatsapp as a based-therapy to converse with an adolescent with depression in the future. \nDate: 4/5/2022 \nPlace: Hall No. 305 \n

DESCRIPTION:Title \nRotating Biological Contactors For Large Scale Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant For Erbil \nAbstract \nEnergy consumed by the proposed RBC based WWTP for Erbil was 11\,814\,174 kWh per annum (0.155 kWh/m3) which is quite low. Compared to CAS modelling which consumes ~59% of energy used by CAS. RBC process is known as low energy consumption technology for WWTP. The value of OPEX (1\,050\,485 GBP/annum or 0.0136 GBP/m3) was low because it consumes low energy and is easy to operate. Less manpower and skill are required for operation and maintenance of the RBC as it is simple system. The value of CAPEX (~26 million GBP) was ~ 9% higher than a CAS due to the high cost of the RBCs units\, and the footprint slightly higher (~3.5%). However\, the greater footprint would have little impact on the CAPEX in this instance since the land has no associated value. \nPlace: civil department \nDate: 4/12/2022

DESCRIPTION:Title \nComputer Network Protocols: Remote Login and DHCP \nAbstract \nIn computer networks there are many network protocols for remote login such as Telnet and SSH. Telnet stands for Telecommunication Network. It is a virtual terminal protocol. It allows a user to access a system remotely. In remote control\, a session appears in which the user can manage the files on the remote computer\, although the session appears to be functioning locally. Telnet is an early version of a remote control application. SSH is a program for logging in to and executing commands on a remote machine. It provides secure encrypted communications between two untrusted hosts over an insecure network. Also\, The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a network management protocol used on Internet Protocol (IP) networks\, whereby a DHCP server dynamically assigns an IP address and other network configuration parameters to each device on the network\, so they can communicate with other IP networks. A DHCP server enables computers to request IP addresses and networking parameters automatically from the Internet service provider (ISP)\, reducing the need for a network administrator or a user to manually assign IP addresses to all network devices. In the absence of a DHCP server\, a computer or other device on the network needs to be manually assigned an IP address. \nDate: 4/24/2022 \nPlace: Hall 9306

DESCRIPTION:Title \nAntibiotic Apocalypse \nAbstract \nThe quick development of resistant bacteria is taking place worldwide\, endangering the value of antibiotics\, which have made a revolution in the medical field and have saved the lives of millions of people. However\, many decades after the treatment of the first patient with antibiotics\, bacterial infections have once more become a hazard. Bacteria have developed resistance to a broad spectrum of antibiotics\, that some have become useless. The antibiotic resistance crisis has been attributed to the overuse and misuse of these medications\, as well as a deficiency of new drug development by the pharmaceutical companies. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has classified a number of bacteria as presenting urgent\, serious\, and concerning threats\, many of which are already responsible for placing a substantial clinical and financial burden on the health care system\, patients\, and their families. Fatal examples of bacteria\, that have become resistant to most antibiotics available in the market\, will be discussed. \n  \nDate: 4/26/2022 \nPlace: 305

DESCRIPTION:Title \nUsing Body Language \nAbstract \n“Using Body Language” offers tips on using facial expressions\, gestures\, and whole-body movement to make any presentation effective and memorable.\nWhat’s the difference between a memorable speech and one that is quickly forgotten? Researchers have proved that hand gestures are the key to a successful speech.\nAny speaker\, whether a lecturer\, seminar presenter or public speaker\, should attempt to show and convey confidence and expertise during their speech. Nonverbal messaging—body language—is a key part of public speaking and has long been an interesting topic of research. What is it about a speaker’s gestures and posture that make audiences transition from being uninterested to engaged?\nMore than half of all human communication takes place nonverbally. We are constantly sending nonverbal messages – even as we read these words. When you speak in public\, your listeners judge you and your message based on what they see as well as on what they hear.\nUsing body language is going to be discussed that makes our lectures\, seminars and speeches unforgettable.\n \n  \nDate: 4/27/2022 \nPlace: 303
